About the building

The 10,000 sq. ft vacant structure has been sitting on the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 8th Street for over three years after the mega-bookstore Barnes and Noble closed down on December 31st, 2012. This building is in Greenwich Village, located on the west side of town in Manhattan, New York City. It has become one of the best-known neighbourhoods in New York and is a great hotspot for artists, students, and tourists. It was known as the Bohemian Capital, where people explored unconventional lifestyles throughout the 19th century.

Research shows that 396 Avenue of the Americas is owned by Friedland Properties and is valued at $3 billion dollars.

Floor Plans

Event day - Floor plan

It is the day of the fashion show! On this day, the green blocks will come together like a puzzle to form a walking stage for the models wearing the clothes for auction. These stage blocks have interactive panels that are designed to have optical sensors that can play visuals that have been activated by touch.

Normal day - Floor plan

During opening hours on a regular day, our inactive stage disconnects and acts as a display platform.
